Ann Shields

I am a writer who plays solitaire on screen when the words hit a blank wall. Then I blog to unstick my right brain. I live with a high maintenance husband and two bossy cats where my husband and I have separate offices to keep us sane. I have one published novel, two others reclining in a drawer. Some published short stories, but found more success in the non-fiction arena as a former columnist for the Los Angeles Times where I interviewed authors who came to town for book signings. Great fun and lots of free books. Since newspapers dump columnists when the budget tanks, that gig ran out. My first by line was in the Chicago Tribune in 1984 . My two adult children and two adult grandchildren,plus great grandsons, and newly minted Nathan are a product of my first marriage.
Son David, wife Barbara, and children Suzanne and Andy live here in Ventura. Suzanne is married to Ryan with bonus babies Lucas and Nathan. Daughter Judith lives in Portola Valley with husband Joe, son 17year old Sam, son Matt who is a graduate ot UCSB and daughter Elle a graduae of UCDavis, and married to Kevin where they live in Portola Valley, California
Married 37 years now to Des Shields, who brought two adult children and assorted grandchildren into our marriage, all living out of state.
Right now, I busy avoiding my fitness trainer, working sporadically at water aerobics and aging as gracefully as possible.
