Procrastination leads to mind clutter. You know the drill. I haven't sent out thank you notes yet on Christmas gifts. Not that I am not grateful, just overwhelmed with mind clutter. Not only that, we never took down the Christmas decorations. Well, actually we never got around to putting any up.
As for Christmas cards and catch up greetings to people far away, well if you were computer literate, you got one via email. I did print out my original with great intentions to snail mail them. Even wrote a brief note explaining my tardiness. But, I have been too busy simplifying my life. Meaning, reducing activities like my personal trainer appointments, and volunteering a a thrift store. Resigned from another club to avoid club meetings. But before I caught my breath, I am now program chairman of another gang of great women.
Meanwhile, my husband reminds me that I will have all the time in the world to do all this busy stuff once he has departed this earthly life, further reminding me of his fragile health and his 6 year age difference which convinces him that he will the first to out the door. This is called being guilted, in case you can't tell.
Healthwise, You'd think I would be able to attend water aerobics classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but doctor clutter interferes far too often. Between my husband and me, we have racked up tons of miles of doc visits and co-pays. So when I show up at water aerobics with warm greetings and plastic 'smart' bells to help strengthen abs and other abbreviated body parts, I give myself a stern lecture on getting there more regularly. Sometimes I just tell me to buzz off.
Worse than mind clutter, though, is paper clutter. I am drowing in it. As I begin to go through stuff preparing for that yearly visit from our IRS guy, I yet again wish I had done some of this monthly. At least tht is what my husband, the guy who leaves all this to me has to say, when he is giving me advice.
I have noted that I am reading more lately, when I should be doing important stuff, like changing the cat litter or ripping all the mint around the jacuzzi in our back yard,, which by the way needs attention before unmentionable critters may find a new home. But reading is my love, next to writing whch I have neglected to do lately due to procrastination due to clutter.
I think this is where I started this missile.
